COMPOSER
Peter has spent more of his musical activity composing. Ranging from pop songs that he wrote as a teenager, to complex compositions of Western orchestral and chamber music, as well as Jazz, he has so far composed hundreds of pieces of stage music, and music for motion pictures, video clips, commercial teasers and feature movies.
Having an eclectic taste in music, he has developed his distinguishable style within 25 years of serious contemplation on various sounds, styles and ethnicities.
His compositional work is inspired by a variety of musical trends stretching from Eastern and Western European music - where older use of musical modes, 4-voiced compositions, canons and fugues blend together with the harmonic approach in jazz -, to the realm of eastern music - where melody, rhythm and improvisation are of more specific importance.
He approaches his style with the term 'musign' as he has been simultaneously working as a graphic designer and a painter for more than 20 years; an activity that interplayed with his musical career and hence produced a unique style in both of his vocations.
Peter's knowledge of 4 languages has supported the development of his multicultural craftsmanship.
He also values the influence of his father - who was an architect and a poet.
"My father's creative side of life was interesting to me and influenced the development of my taste. He was a very fine teacher and taught me a lot in creativity and aesthetics from his architectural and poetic background included in his creative activities that were natural ingredients of our family life."
His aptitude as a multi-instrumentalist has been an asset in his compositional work, partly because the sounds he has developed on various instruments provided the material for his creative work, and partly because he was capable of performing of his own compositions for recordings and live audiences . |
